About
The Workshop:
- The
need for the workshop. All the resources that we possess or come
to generate are merely derivatives of how we use time, our only fundamental
resource! Executives the world over, ironically in this age of speed,
are realizing that their real and useful output after an apparently
hard and hectic day is usually dismally low as compared to their input
in terms of time and energy spent during the day.
- One
thing that is becoming more and more clear is the fact that it is
not merely the amount of time but also the special intelligence with
which time is used that determines how much real headway we make every
day as an individual or collectively as an organization. I have coined
a new term for this special intelligence. I call this special intelligence
as ‘Time Intelligence’.
- A
time-intelligent person is clear and enthusiastic about his life-purpose,
vision, value hierarchy and goals based on them. He has a clear
idea of how his personal goals are dovetailed with those of his organization
and how they are interdependent. . He does not necessarily spend more
time than others at work but he works much more smartly and with concentration..
He is not only effective and efficient but is in the habit of looking
back at the present from the eyes of future and act proactively. He
has learnt not only how to distinguish between urgent and important
things but also how not to lose sight of the important under the pressure
of the urgent. He prioritizes his jobs like an expert and is in the
habit of ceaselessly repeating the pertinent question, “What could
be the best use of the present moment?” under his breath, like a
mantra.
- The
level of time-intelligence that the people in an organization attempt
their work with decides the speed, quality and direction they give
to the company. On an average, time planning pays off four to one
in time savings.
- Most
of the stress and impediments to effective and efficient working in
our personal and corporate lives are caused not by situations we confront
but because of our inability to respond timely and adequately to these.
When we do not learn how to respond correctly to day to day situations,
we learn to do so wrongly by default and in ways counterproductive
to our own interests. Developing time intelligence is the answer.
- How
this workshop is different from those on the same subject: ‘Developing
Time Intelligence’ is not one among any of the run-of-the-mill workshops
on time management. Unlike other usual workshops on the subject, instead
of sermonizing on what the participants should or should not do, this
workshop directly sets out to identify the elements of the mental
software that shape our responses. Having done that, it programs the
transformation of these elements at the very subconscious level through
a precise and easy to use mechanism. It makes it difficult, thereby,
for the participants to ever behave in their old unproductive and
self-defeating ways. The workshop promises lasting attitudinal change
towards time and is one of the best available in this field. It does
not seek to impart knowledge about time management; it seeks to develop
one’s intelligence to use one’s time more effectively through an awareness
of the value of time and by triggering a process of gradual but ceaseless
transformation of one’s attitude and habits.
- Time
Intelligence does not only mean how to squeeze in more tasks in a
day’s work. More importantly it means identifying, prioritizing
and doing right things in the right way in the right amount of time
and in the right manner so as to satisfy oneself completely on all
fronts. Often when even our planning is reasonable our ability to
implement it fails us miserably. A majority of managers fail to realize
that providing the proper planning (nutritious food) is not enough;
along with the creation of a proper environment, one also needs to
ensure within oneself and among the team members the mental and emotional
readiness (the appetite) for it too.
- There
is often an unresolved incongruity between real priorities at the
subconscious level and the ones that we consciously thrust upon ourselves.
In addition to this there is often an inability to identify and overcome
our hidden biases for and preoccupation with certain kind of fruitless
activities and/or our weakness for choosing what is easy for the present
moment and letting the difficult pile up for tomorrow. Time Intelligence,
therefore, begins with self-knowledge and involves fine tuning the
priorities that we set for ourselves consciously with what our real
needs are deep within. Any attempt that does not take care of these
subtle realities can only bring lukewarm change at best; no wonder
there are so few who succeed in inculcating real time intelligence
skills.
- This
workshop considers the fact that most executives are intelligent enough
to plan their time; what they fail at is not planning but implementation
part of it. Yet usual workshops dedicate almost all their time
to planning part of it. Hence, unlike usual workshops on time management,
this one stresses not only on planning part of it but adequately
also on identifying the real psychological bottlenecks that keep executives
from sticking to their own plans. Time management is not merely a
left-brained logical planning but more of cultivation of a spirited
will and unswerving inner determination to stick to it--and this is
what this workshop develops in the participants. This workshop develops
among participants the real time-intelligence because of which they
will be able to develop a consciousness to extract the best from each
of their present moments. The workshop shall also enable participants
to develop their own effective planning charts to take care of their
unique shortcomings, needs and style.
- Most
of the organisations and people do talk about Time Management but
tend to take it for granted or fail to address the real issues at
its roots. Just like any other skill such as dancing, cycling
and swimming one can learn how to cultivate Time-Intelligence. This
programme helps participants doing just that.
- Unlike
the usual run-of-the-mill programmes, wherein 95 % of what one learns
is forgotten quickly, this programme is mnemonic based so as to be
retained better, introspection/self-awareness-driven, and focused
on transforming habits (not on merely increasing knowledge–base).
Apart from this the powerful exercises, games, meditation and use
special techniques that reinforce the learning points in their subconscious
mind so that the desired behavior or response becomes their second
nature and flows effortlessly from them in a natural way. The participants
get a new way of looking at life with the replacement of all their
limiting beliefs with vibrantly positive ones.
